It looks great but I would not give it the "best airline ever" moncker. Anybody who has flown Eos between New York and London knows they own that title.

I actually just flew from LAX to SFO using Virgin America yesterday. I was really impressed. First off, because it's a new airline with just a few flights at the current time, there's virtually no wait at the ticket counter. Computers at the front desk help you login-in your details really quickly, and you hand over your luggage. Also, the staff are very friendly. Perhaps it may have something due to the airline's relative youth, but I found people to actually "like" customers instead of the usual, "oh great, another person" stigma you sometimes find at other airlines.

As for the flight itself, it was fantastic. The seats are very comfortable (black leather) and give plenty of room. The touch screen system, called Red, gives you everything from live TV, Google Maps, music videos, a great selection of music to listen to on demand, Doom (plus other games), and chat rooms. The people in the row right next to me instant messaged me and invited me to chat. Wow, I thought. This is geek central. Plus, the mood lighting of deep pinks, purples, and blues gives it a very relaxed feeling when you fly.

In sum, Virgin America's a great airline, and gave this customer satisfaction. Jetblue has been fine in the past, but VA is going to give them a good run for their money.

Only thing, it seems there's no Video on Demand! Based on the article, you're still stuck watching videos which are on the TV channels at that time. VOD is cooler because you can have a larger catalog, they start when you want them to, and can be paused.

Dealyzer,

I just checked them out for a ticket to LA from NYC and the prices are comparable to other airlines minus Southwest, but you do get way more for your money.

Looks awesome! But will they be able to compete against other airlines in price?
