You heard it here first, folks. We have it from an inside source that the AT&T Tilt (aka 8925 aka Kaiser) hits stores September 3rd for $499 with 2-year plan. No word on 1-year pricing, but this flagship phone should be all over the place in a little less than a month.

Dude would you please don’t post an other release date if you are not 100% sure…I mean I could go to that stupid at&t store and just about any sale person could make a date of release. they going to be like hey come in a week or two because they want you to visite back and just in case the phone is not out you might see something else. but they so stupid and don’t know that we going to die but wouldn’t buy any other stupid phone that is out on the market e.g. Iphone. Iphone is nothing but a marketing scam, the only reason why Iphone is so popluar because Apple knows how to market their product to anyone and anywhere in the world. just think about it….so please don’t post any dates for at&t tilt because I just can’t take it anymore….

Well I have been doing some reading and don’t quote me but i have a feeling that we are looking towards mid august before this thing comes out, especially since i was just at an at&t store and they have nothing about it

You don’t know the release date. Anyone saying otherwise is just putting out rank speculation (unless of course it’s the Whole Foods CEO who was just a liar).
It will be out when it’s out and no store-monkey sales person will let anyone else know when because they will more than likely get a bonus for selling the old 8525. . .
Actually, at the AT&T store that I went to, the salesperson actually discouraged me from getting the 8525, because of the new one comming out, suggesting that I get the new 8925, or Tilt. He slso said that it would be out September 25′th-October 1’st.
I went to the AT&T store by my house and two sales rep there told me that it would most likely be out in November. That was before one of them was conning me into buying the iphone, LOL! Damn the iphone ….

Hey Guy, I went up to this at&t store today and they had the at&t tilt, I bought it, it is not unlock, so it could be only used with at&t, I love it, the GPS works great, and yumi yumi I am loving it, I bought it for $399, The other one is $350 but had no front camara, the at&t sale person told me that I will be able to make video calls once other person has the same phone, he also gave me a 50 dollar rebate form, since I sign for a two years contract, I am paying $19.99 dollars for the unlimited Internet, so guys where is your tilt. check it out, oh the at&t store that has it in the SOHO, manhattan by broadyway and Bleecker street, it is a big store you wouldn’t miss it….good luck, I also asked the sale person if they have enough supply and they told me if the whole new york need one we got it. so best of luck

FWIW, I stopped into an AT&T store today in central New Jersey and asked a rep about the Tilt. He said he wouldn’t give me a date because they change all the time. I asked for a ballpark figure and he said he thought 1-2 weeks because it just started showing up in their rebates. Guess we’ll have to see.

Tentative launch date. However, as far as I can see in our inventory system, no stores have any in stock, nor are any yet being shipped out. Our sales system doesn’t even have pricing information listed for it yet. There is a SKU for it, but no pricing has been attached to it. My guess is that most retail stores won’t see the phone till possibly the first two weeks of October and only the stores that have the highest rate of data device sales and PDA feature sales will get them first. That, or the lesser stores will get maybe a handful.
I have seen the most recent price list at my local store. I has “Tilt” listed along with the pricing. No date though. This store did not have the 8525 on display anymore.
AT&T Customer is right. After his post I went and looked through the price lists for different markets (cluster of cities, counties, and/or states). Apparently some markets already have the Tilt listed. Not usrprisingly, my market (Hawaii) doesn’t.
As it stands, the Tilt is listed for a $549.99 price tag with no commitment. The 2 year discount with PDA plan is $349.99 after $50 MiR. Keep in mind that prices can vary from market to market…so the Georgia pricing (which is where I got this price list) may be different than say Cali’s. However on PDA devices, it’s usually unified across the board.
Keep in mind though…this is all just tentative info and can easily change before the launch.
I just got mine, at&t tilt. I followed Moe’s advice, I went my self to the at&t store on broadway and broad street, I got mine with a non-camara since I can’t use a camara phone at my work. it has a great GPS that I tried, You could only download one city, and for the rest you have to buy them. Over all its a great phone. just wanted to thanks Moe for his posting, otherwise I would have bought the tynt version which would have costed me lots of money. have fun guys bye.

See, the problem with AT&T (as with Cingualr before it) is the next new/better/upgraded version of a phone is “disclosed” barely before or after the current one goes on sale (witness 8125 –> 8525 –> 8925).

Goddamit!!!! Listen up people …. earlier today (Sept 29) I was at Digital Life in New York City at the Jacob Javitz center. I saw the HTC version of the tilt with the front camera:) This was not branded At&T. It was actually at the Microsoft display booth. Holy crap!!! This is a f(<kin sweet phone :D I did take pics of it so I hope to make one of them my default pic on my myspace page ;) … well guess who knows about a date when it will be released? last I was told it should be out this month (October) but the day given was the 16th? Lets just hope this damn thing comes out before Christmas :))
I have spoke with three ATT stores in Oregon all of their computers show a release date of 10/1 all stores that are receiving them will have them for sale after 2PM.

That makes the release date for Premier customers Friday, Oct 5th. As of today, it does not appear in Premier.

I spoke to my sister’s neighbor who dates the guy from the 7/11 who knew the guy from the landscaper, who’s brother thought about the girl next door who was married to the AT&T rep.
He was a short fat tall skinny guy with light brown dark hair.
And he said.
AT&T was releasing the phones to Santa and the tooth fairy and only those on the nice list or teeth were falling out were going to find out the date when the phone “absolut-ly might” be released.
Its a definite absolute maybe on the date at this point.

I just played with a coworker’s htc kaiser, and saw the following BBR speed test results:
~600kbps
.4sec latency
That’s fine. The big problem I had with it was that the tilt screen actually doesn’t make much sense… it’s not a laptop, it’s a handheld device… I can see the screen just fine when I type on it.
The other big problem was the CPU speed. My Wizard is a single core 200Mhz ARM processor… this thing’s 400Mhz, why does it not seem like it draws apps twice as fast, renders web pages twice as fast. It even seems like it uses the CPU a lot when it’s downloading data, just like the MDA. I think we’re hitting some other bottlenecks, like GPU or memory.
That said, I still want to get it the day it comes out.
