It was one year ago today that Blake and I launched CrunchGear, another gadget blog in a sea of gadget blogs. One year later we’ve hit the Technorati Top 100 (like Peter Ha’s weight, we tend to fluctuate above and below the 100 point) and just finished two consecutive months of 1 million+ pageviews. Not too shabby for a ragtag bunch of misfits out to stop the evil Empire, right?

How did we do it? We wrote a lot (7,791 posts to date), reviewed a lot of things, and tried to be witty and/or topical every day. But who do we really have to thank for our success? Sure, our benefactor Michael is someone we’ve grown to love and admire, in a purely platonic sense, but what about you, our readers? You’ve posted 26,512 comments, have told us we’re morons countless times, and stuck with us through thick and thin. We love you in the erotic sense. And we want to thank you.

Welcome to 10 Days of CrunchGear, our MASSIVE reader giveaway event with over 30 prizes. You don’t have to make a video but you will have to perform a few tasks — usually just an email with a special subject line — in order to win. We want to make this fun and easy.

We’ll be running these contests for 10 days and on August 20th we’ll have a get-together in New York to celebrate CG. Incidentally, please email party@crunchgear.com if you plan on attending. It will be at 7pm at some undisclosed location in Manhattan.

Now, we’re going to have a very special prize at the end of the 10 days. We don’t want to spoil the suspense (*burp* iPhone), but in order to enter for the grand prize you MUST have entered all of the other contests. Most of these contests just involve sending an email, so it won’t be that hard.

To recap: prizes every day for 10 days, party in New York on the 20th, enter all the contest if you know what’s good for you. We’ll have more than one contest per day, including weekends, so keep checking back. Announcements will show up on this site and in our Facebook group. We can and will ship to Europe and parts unknown, but we can’t be responsible for customs duty. You can enter once per contest and you can win multiple times.
