I have a buddy asking me the best way to set up a folding farm - a stack of older computers that crunch Folding @ Home proteins.

One of his concerns is all the power he would be using and the environmental impact offsetting the good done through the F@H project.

It looks like these low power diskless computers would be perfect in that regard.

Do you have an opinion as to the suitability of this computer?

It looks great!

I've been using the box for a coupla months, doing heads down customer service at craigslist.

The box works really well, and delivers as advertised.

Even supports a big high res screen.

Ken,

What you said about the Zonbu was not totally accurate. You can buy the box as a standalone device (without the storage plan) for $249. The devices sold at $99 are locked and can't be changed but Zonbu confirmed that I could buy just the box and install any other Linux distro or even Windows XP. And, since the box will boot from a USB device you could beef up your storage to any size hard disk you like, making the Zonbu much more usable. Let's face it, most technical users (myself included) would hate the idea of depending on an internet connection to be able to save their own data.
