Revealed today pre-IFA is the VP-HMX10, which is Samsung’s first compact HD camcorder. While it’s not 1080p the HMX10 is rocking 720p with a 10x optical zoom lens and has 8GB of internal storage (H.264) with an SDHC port for extra coverage. The HMX10 also boasts a quick-start function that gets you going in under three seconds with a widescreen LCD that swivels around like a wet noodle as well as the swiveling handle that is quite clever and useful. In case you want to video your buddies skateboarding or something. I’m sure you can find some need for it. Pricing and availability are non-existent at the moment, but it’s said to launch in October.
