Verizon’s Motorola Q 9m: First Look
by John Biggs on August 22, 2007

They’re doing it again. After years of disappointing phones, I can honestly say that I’m excited about the Moto Q 9m. This phone, aimed at the youth market, is primarily a music phone and takes advantage of Verizon’s V Cast music service (*cough $1.99 for tracks cough* WTF? *ahem*) in a package that is far removed from the original Q.

I’ll have a full review in a few hours, but here’s the rundown:

  • 1 megapixel camera with flash
  • New, clever scrollwheel-based front interface
  • Windows Mobile 6, although they have hidden the OS in a very satisfying way
  • Soft touch front and back including odd feeling “barrel keys”
  • Out of the box access to email accounts
  • No out of the box IM clients — for shame, Verizon!
  • Available now online, in stores August 27
  • MiniSD Support include HC for up to 32GB of storage.

    EV-DO rev. A or plain-old EV-DO?

Could have gone farther with it, and the pricetag? Not upgrading my Q just yet.

hmm… interesting features… i am already sold…. looks like a cool phone which i can use for music and also for business..

no it’s Rev -A, althought if you teather it’s EVDO rev0

its EVDO Rev A. but when tethered its Rev 0

This phone is just so pretty. I think that this is an upgrade from that other moto q. And the first word that comes into my mind when I think of the other moto q is EWWWWWWWW!! the other on is ugly, and i really don’t think that anyone would want an ugly phone!!
