Take Two Interactive is probably throwing an office party this week with the recent success of BioShock, but now the company has another reason to celebrate. Manhunt 2 has lost its “Adults Only” rating and has since garnered a “Mature” rating after some of the game’s contest was trimmed down to become less-violent. The hack-n-slash game is due out on Halloween this October. Spooky!

  • I don’t understand what the whole fuss is about – the Romans fed Christians to tigers for their amusement, at least nobody actually gets killed (and eaten) in these games ;-)

  • The fuss is because there is at least some limited research that indicates aggression is socially learned. Seems like no one is game (haha – pun) to try and take the research a bit further though…

The first one was pretty damn violent too. I mean the first person you kill in the game, you choke with a plastic shopping bag and beat to death. You then go on to collect an array of nasties like shards of glass and baseball bats which you can use a variety of ways.
