Tilt Hitting September 25th?

Looks like we were lead astray by our AT&T mole. An alert reader dropped into the AT&T store and asked after the Tilt, which should have dropped today. Here’s what he found out:

I went to the AT&T store today to see if the ATT tilt was available
and was not surprised to see that it was not released yet. I found out
that the phone is scheduled to be released on September 25th, 2007;
however, that is only the scheduled release date the sales
representative stated that it may takes a few days longer, but should
be anywhere around Sept. 25 - October 1st at the most.

Thanks, LN!

Ugh! And I got all dressed up this morning! Well at least I was first in line after camping out. Not sure my food can last till the 25th so I’m heading home.

Wow, you’ve narrowed it down to a 2 week span. So basically what you are saying is that you don’t know anymore than we do.

I’ve also walked into a couple of different stores and called as well, they gave me November time frame launch window with all the other pda releases just before the holidays.

At this point; I’m giving up on all the rumor mills and will just stick to the official press releases only; like the one they did for the 8525 back in November of 2006.

Hi, I just went into the store again today to get confirmation. The salesperson checked the computer screen and told me that yes it is scheduled for an October 25th release.

Also, boogieman, the 25th to the 1st is one week not two.

Just spoke with an AT&T rep on the phone, and the 8925 is in their system, but with no inventory. So I think the official name will be the AT&T 8925. The Tilt was not in their system as of yet.

I just got off the phone with (what I feel) is the most savvy store in the area. They told me that they are still referring to the device as the TyTn II despite the most recent designations. They also told me the device was not on any of their price sheets for what it’s worth. I think the real take-away here is that deployment for AT&T seems to be a real problem when employees at different stores have different “official” information.

I just got off the phone with AT&T and they told me that it is actually named AT&T Badass and is scheduled to release on 12/25 (Christmas gift).

Well I’m still in no rush to get it … yeah a year after the 8525 was released seems logic. So yep, it’ll make a good Christmas gift. Sept. 25, October 3rd, October 25th … people are just pulling dates out of their ass.

I am so tired of this crap, AT&T is really not the sharpest pencil in the box. I have been watching this device for a while and at this point given their lack of concern for their customers I would encourage everyone to do as I will do and get a different device from a different carrier if they do not release by the end of the month. The philosophy I live by is nothing changes until someone gets hit socked in the face. If they wish to continue dragging their ass, they should lose customers, end of story. Not to mention they strip devices clean of useful features. Absolutely disgusted and completely despise them for it.

Additionally I believe there should be tighter moderation on many sites posting things like “8925 to be released on the 3rd” seriously unless your daddies last name is at&t shut the f_uck up. I feel like I’m in high school or something hearing some BS gossip. I know I dont have to read it but it is hard to miss when your researching something and every site has these “official release” or “just in” do me a favor and jump off of a bridge or in front of a bus, you know what ever suits you.

I dunno, At&t seems to be changing their PDA phone selection page since it hasn’t been updated in awhile. Could the Tilt be showing up on there soon? Well regardless if it is or not, I’m not holding my breath. So it’s stands as, “We will not believe it until we see it!!”

Looks like AT&T is getting ready for the release of the AT&T Tilt. See http://www.wireless.att.com/global/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/MIR_NAT_Device_110307.pdf. Seems to be two versions, one with camera and one without. PDAdb.net shows only one choice which is without the front camra.

Sorry, bookmark doesn’t work with period at the end. Needs to be: http://www.wireless.att.com/global/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/MIR_NAT_Device_110307.pdf

At least from the pdf, we know AT&T Tilt is the leading name and it will be released no later than november 3. If that date passes with out release, then you angry guys can get angry or boycott.

You gullable folks are all funny with your “heard/seen” release dates. I somewhat agree with blackalty (not about killing yourselves). You all are getting people’s hopes up. I work in an AT&T wireless corporate store, and we aren’t even too sure of when it’s supposed to be released. In different markets, we all get different products on different launch days (unless it happens to be a stupIdPhone[Iphone]). For instance, in the Miami market, we’re expected for the AT&T Tilt or 8925 (yes, Tilt or 8925 are the names we’re using) to be released on September 21st (that’s what our price sheet shows). Nothing is set in stone, so please stop releasing information for the entire country to see; unfortunately, people are in their high school state of minds (gossip) when it comes to these things.

my store got in the display cards and stands a couple days ago. Thats good news…

PDAdb.net has updated their AT&T data to show two HTC Kaiser model phones by AT&T, one the AT&T Tilt 8900, with no phones, and a second, the AT&T Tilt 8925, with two. My thought is that we are near the last changes by PDAdb.net for these phones. Their data seems very precise so I expect that PDAb.net will change the weight of the 8925 at some point. Robert above, I agree that there seems to be a great deal of attention being given the release of these phones. However, for my part, I am desperately in need of changing out a dying Treo 650. My cell phone is key to my work in Mexico and Texas; so, getting a new phone ordered is high priority for this Gringo.

Ok fans…

Another call to another AT&T center revealed that the 8925 IS on their price list so I was told that means soon. They said it was $399.99 with $50 rebated with 2 year contract..

Oh Boy Oh Boy Oh Boy!!

I keep refreshing the AT&T devices page waiting for the 8925 to pop in!!

I also am in need of a new phone and I have to get one SOON so this is worth the wait. The last AT&T center I called yesterday said October 3rd.

That’s all folks!

LOL! I’ve got a dying Treo 650, too, and am trying to hold out for the 8925. Seems like every day I consider just buying the 8525, then I remember the built-in GPS, full-sized stylus, etc. on the 8925 and resolve to wait. Then a new day dawns and cycle begins anew…

Ready4it (Who am I?)

I stopped by 3 AT&T stores in my area, and asked about the Tilt. The actual release date is October 7th. I saw it myself on the paper. The phone price will be 399.99 with a 50 dollar rebate for a 39.99/month or higher data plan. If you do not buy a data plan the phone will be 399.99. The guy told me that all stores should be getting it either 2 days before or after the 7th. That is only because of delivery routes. I don’t know if I can wait 2 weeks. lol. The store that I saw the paper from is the one in Moosic, PA. They seem to be the only one that had the paper for it. Search for Moosic, PA on AT&T’s site and call if you want to confirm.
