Only in bizarro world does getting screwed by 200$ become "gee, look how that nice man is giving us $100".

Something tells me the Kool-Aid aint grape.

Even Jobs realized after the faithful sheep were shorn that something had to be done. His act of contrition then became canon for the followers who now will spend a grand most likely on a laptop.

 1000
+ 600
- 100

I bow to the judo master, those 'nice' gestures will gather them even more sales.

Bravo.

John, you must be having a good day, or maybe you are already half-way down sedation highway in preparation for the weekend. On a Monday you would have told Scoble to take his wishlist and shove it up his a....

What does a cold Wiener Schnitzel have to do with global warming? Just as much as wanting an SDK has to do with getting a $100 gift certificate for being an early adopter.

It's bizarre: Apple didn't have to lower the price on the iPhone. But they did, and people started complaining, because whenever somebody saves some money, someone else who already spent it complains about it. Apple didn't have to give a rat's ass about those people. But they did, and decided to show that (in some ways) customer satisfaction is as important as selling products.

But no, for Mister First-in-line-at-Palo-Alto-Apple-Store Scoble this still isn't enough. He wants MORE. He wants to see his geekish pursuit of complete control over his beloved round-edged phone fulfilled.

The irony? Had Steve Jobs announced a couple of new iPods without lowering the iPhone price, Scoble would have never had a reason to complain about it, and we wouldn't have had to read about it, and I wouldn't have had to write this comment. Instead we would all be happily paying $599 for our iPhones, birds would be chirping, people dancing on the streets, happiness throughout the world.
