World traveler here, I use the Dell Axim with Windows mobile for Yahoo Voice and Skype, works very well, I have local phone numbers on multiple continents; however, I would unload the Axim on eBay in a heartbeat if I could get Skype and Yahoo voice on the iPod touch. You can forget cell phone plans, what a giant rip off! I don’t want to have to answer my phone unless I am having coffee anyway, thats what voice mail is for. Please get to work on it folks!

The interface is smoother and the device is smaller. If you compare pricing, though, they run pretty close to the same -- not in terms of storage (one is flash, one is hard drive, and HDs are still cheaper to produce).

how is the ipod touch way better than the archos 605, though, especially when the archos is much cheaper and has a bigger screen?
