Logitech AudioHub: Speakers, USB Ports And Free Candy

Say you have a laptop that actually works when you need it to—mine, from a company whose name rhymes with Bony doesn’t—you might, at some point, want a better sound system. (Headphones, apparently, have been banned.) Logiteh’s AudioHub adds a 2.1-channel speaker setup to your laptop. That, and three USB ports, which hopefully will power devices other than a 16MB USB thumb drive. It looks a little clunky—OK, a lot clunky, but I guess that’s the price you pay…

Needless to say, I’m not exactly sold on this. Who is the target market for this? Probably not serious audio folks like Kobrin. In any event, it’ll be here in October for $99.
