Student CrunchDeal: Get Office Ultimate 2007 For $60
by Doug Aamoth on September 12, 2007

msultimate

Straight outta Redmond comes an enormous student discount on the all-inclusive Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007. Apparently Microsoft’s caught on the fact that a fair amount of college students either know how to pirate software or know someone who does, so it’s decided that $60 is better than $0. Oh, and there’s the whole free Google Docs thing too.

The deal starts in a little over an hour and lasts until the end of April, 2008. You have to be a student with a .edu e-mail address in the U.S., Canada, or the United Kingdom. France, Italy, and Spain will be included starting September 20th.

  • Australia has already had this offer back in May.
Nice that they are offering it in other countries now.

    Office for uni students

  • Can someone please explain this:

Around 11am PST, I first saw a post about this “The Ultimate Steal.” The post said, “Starting in 59 minutes, 35 seconds”

Ok, great. Hop on over to theultimatesteal.com - Wait a Minute! Now it is saying over 3 hours til it starts? Fine, whatever… should be getting info or the ability to order by 2pm PST.

Get on a flight, figure I’ll have an email when I get home… Nada - nothing.

Go over to the MS site again… WTF?!?! Now at 7:10pm PST, the site is saying over 5 hours til it begins? Um, someone explain this to me? Maybe these MS folks should head back to school so that they can figure out how to tell time?

“The Ultimate Steal” = “The Ultimate Publicity Scam” right now.

  • Ah, thanks for pointing that out. The source article from CyberNet News mentioned that but I forgot to add that to the post. Good eye, thanks again.

  • Doug - It gets better… 5am PST right now:

    From “The Ultimate Steal” website:

“This exclusive offer begins September 12, 2007!”

What? 7.5 hours to go now? Wouldn’t that make the date of availability Sept. 13?

    This math is horrific.

  • Yeah, smooth move Microsoft. The availability got delayed at the last second for some reason. Sorry for the confusion. It’s good to go now.
