That’s right it’s the 256th day of the year, the unofficial tribute to programmers everywhere. If you don’t have a special coder to hug or buy Cheetos for, this would be the perfect time to brush up on some languages. PHP is something everyone should know, this server side scripting language enjoys long walks on the beach and candle lit dinners. Perl is fun too. • Oh wow. Is that a 1581 drive on that Commdore?

I had one of those. Last piece of hardware I ever bought for my C128.

    Old old old. :)

  • I miss the “old days” when computers were fun in and of themselves, and not just some tool to do a job like they are today. Computing has gone from being creative and making things to simply being a “consumer” — just like many other things our world these days.

I suppose that’s why we’re seeing the revival in DIY projects and stuff like that as people from my generation, who grew-up creating and building projects, are tired of just buying stuff and want to feel what it’s like to create once again.
