Touch is good for bedside browsing and for video. The nano is excellent for portability and sometime video and the classic is your best bet for lots of audio and some video. For example, I'd want a Classic for a plane ride, a nano for a workout, and a touch for daily use - maybe for a ride on the subway to work, at work. Without WiFi, the touch becomes a nano with a big screen.

So from your hands on experience, which would you recommend for someone who has no mp3 player at all?

Space would be nice, but extra features other than just an mp3/video player would be nice too. Would the touch not be worth getting if said user is usually on or near a computer all day anyway?
