A few people have turned on their Nano’s for the first time to be flabbergasted at the one to two millimeter slant on the media players screen. Now you can say we’re nitpicking if you want, but that’s the kind of thing that would annoy us to within millimeters of insanity. Hopefully this is a bad production run and the more cautious buyers will have perfectly straight screens.

I can’t tell at all in that first shot. And there’s no way that Steve “clean lines” Jobs will allow this to happen with more Nanos.
Look at the bottom part of the screen where it is supposed to be parallel to the green metal.
My OCD and I cringed when we saw this picture.
Must be just me but when i first bought (the now old) nano, i was suprised about the black boarder – they tried to make the screen look bigger than it is i guess. has always buggered me as my various phones over teh years and my previous player (a 30gig philips, actaully quite good to be honest) went past the border. Point of all this blabber is to say – apple give themselves no margin for slight error! You wouldnt notice it if the border was out of site!
I can see it. When you buy something from Apple–and pay the premium–you shouldn’t accept anything less than perfect.

my brand new nano also has a crooked screen.
i am returning it to costco. products of this nature should not have screens that “slip” so easily. this has never happened on any mobile device i have had, including phones that have been dropped. and this nano was not dropped.
i am going to return it to costco.
Exact same for me: crooked. And I wanted to exchange it: the second model has the same problem!
Seems the whole lot got it – mine, too but only very slight. Since I know it, I see it :(

Was probably 1$ more expensive in the quality control cycle to avoid this kind of defect.
Which means less benefits for apple so…

Just bought an 8gb black nano from the apple store.
My brother noticed it, then I saw it.
It took me an hour and half to get there and back (slight traffic).
I’m so upset. Are they all like this?
Just visited the gravis flagship store in berlin (gravis is one of the biggest apple reseller in germany) and found out that all ipod nanos 2g used for demonstration purpose suffer of crooked screens. It looks really bad and is surely not a minor ‘cosmetic’ issue.
