HP Planning SSDs In Biz Laptops
by Vince Veneziani on September 19, 2007

The next time your company offers to let you buy a laptop with company funds, you might want to check out some new business-grade laptops from HP. Though HP isn’t the first choice for the business world (Lenovo seems to reign king here), its new notebooks are set to offer features not found in many others.

As of next month, the HP Compaq 2710p, 2510p, 6910p, and 8000 series computers will offer 64GB NAND flash memory drives as an option. Having non-moving parts doesn’t come cheap either, as it’s expected that the optional drives will cost $1000 extra. For that price, I can live with my notebook crashing once every couple of years.
