Awesome review and one of the few I've seen out there. These are now going for right around $50 vs. the $150 they were originally at and I just made the definite decision to purchase. JBL has a great reputation for creating sound acoustics and sound aesthetics.

(A review from the brother of an audio nut)

I got a pair that cost my brother $30 and have to say they were worth that price. I wouldn't pay anything over $80 for these, though. I have a pair of Yamaha RH10's that are much better. With the Yamahas I can hear more music on U2's Achtung Baby, but it's only the high stuff. If I turn the volume up (I shouldn't have to do that...) then the high stuff comes through the JBLs, but I shouldn't have to do that! The JBL's are much better then my Sony MDR V600s that I let my girlfriend have, but she won't take the JBL's because she thinks they are ugly.

I have these cans. One word; great

Great design
Great sound-quality
Great build quality
Great comfort
Great price

For non-noise cancelling, was quote pleased with the sound cancellation is adequate (they are closed back, after all). Virtually no sound leakage (although you do get a whim of the thickest baselines).

Buy original CDs and a good audio device to enjoy these headphones

1Love

Hey thanks for the review on these! I picked up a pair a couple weeks ago and have been very pleased. Not sure if they're worth the $80 I paid, as they sound just about like the $50 Jabra 820s Noise-Cancelling headphones I got a couple months ago. But nevertheless, thanks for the review!

Its refreshing to see a headphone review done by someone who has some experience with brands such as grado, yahmaha, sennheiser, and sony. I have gotten tired of overly biased Bose reviews and reviews who have not listened to a good pair of headphones in their life. Thanks for the review, definitely an interesting pair of closed cans.
