Well that last reply is retarded seeing you cant turn on the xbox if everything is disconnected....
and all that would do (if it was turned on with the airvents covered) would heat the xbox even further...

i wouldnt follow this guy's advice if i were you

Its a shame outlaw is smart enough to rant, but not smart enough to use Google! You can fix the RLoD yourself. I got the RLoD on Saturday and had it fixed about an hour later using steps I followed from an Internet video. Not sure exactly why it worked, but it did. Played it all weekend without problems.

1) Disconnect everything from the XBox 360.
2) Place a large towel on a flat surface.
3) Place the 360 on the towel.
4) Wrap the ends of the towel around the 360 (covering the sides and top completely).
5) Place a second towel on top and wrap it tight.
6) Turn on the 360.
7) Leave it on for 10 - 15 minutes.
8) Unwrap it.
9) Turn it off and let the XBox 360 cool for a little while.
10) Hook it back up and have fun...

outlaw = Sony PR plant?

Certainly don't need two of your alleged stories. I had an RROD last fall, and customer support was extremely helpful in getting my launch-day box replaced under the free extended warranty. Took less than a week to get my replacement, which has worked wonderfully sense.

It would be nice to be able to play the biggest game in gaming history.

But my wonderfully made 360 bricked with the Red Rings of Death 2 weeks ago (only owned it 3 months). Thanks to MS for sending me a box with no return label. Then allegedly sending me another box that never arrived because they forgot to process it. Now I am awaiting the 3rd try at sending the box.

Just got Madden 08 and played 2 games. Pre-Ordered Halo 3 months ago. Wow! What fun it is to own MS products!

Yeah, Halo 3 will be cool! However, my 360 bricked almost 2 weeks ago with the red rings of death. Oh and Microsoft's great customer service sent me a coffin right away to ship it in for repair but forgot to put a return label in the box.

I called back, they was to ship another box with the return label....I waited over a week....No box came. I called the wonderfully non english speaking people at MS and they forgot to ship the box. WOW, what a great bunch of people they have there. I asked about getting a game or some MS points for my trouble (like others have done and gotten) and was told, "okay have a nice day, click!" He hung up on me.

Sooo, they have allegedly mailed another box that should be in sometime this week. Oh, and Halo 3 is hitting tomorrow, a game I pre-ordered over a MONTH ago. I also recently aquired Madden 08 from Goozex.com (great site check them out) but only got to play it for 2 games.

Thanks MS for a wonderfully crappy product! $400 is such a waste for these boxes. What sucks is that they repair them with the exact same parts that are failing. So, it will undoubtly fail again.

Not that I wanted to play my $1000 investment on the biggest week in gaming or anything. Oh well, just my luck!
