Virgin Records are owned by EMI not Virgin Megastores (now Zavvi as VM was subject to a management buyout) and Virgin Digital were owned by Virgin Megastores/Retail Ltd, and because they don't want a digital platform they have dropped the service...simple as that. If you have to ask I work within the company.

You want a reason?

How about the fact that Virgin is owned by EMI, so Virgin's catalog is available DRM-free as MP3 and MP4 on other systems, so nobody in their right mind would buy from Virgin Digital?
