I don't think Woz has ever really been under the Kool-Aid effect at all Chuck. He has always been down to earth with a lot of things, and more recently in his life he has said shit about it. I'll admit, the iPhone is fun, and I cannot wait to get my hands on one, but I know fully well at this point that I can wait until early next year and get my hands on the "NEW" iPhone that is sure as shit going to come out.

iPhones are going to be like the iPod. Every 6 to 8 months a new flavor comes out. I'm at this point waiting for that next flavor. I'm sure the perks that everyone wants will be in that one... flash support, video messages, a messaging client, etc.

I'm sort of proud that Woz is putting a punch in against Apple where it hurts. My personal stance is still that Apple products are overpriced for merely looking fancy, giving yourself the "cool" factor, and past video editing and graphic design pretty much worthless to own. I can build a system that matches a Mac's specs for much less than what Mac's charge for their "shiny" stuff. For example...

Take this 30" 2560 x 1600 display from Apple for $1,799.00:

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=10F1701B&nclm=AppleDisplays

or, take this 30" 2560 x 1600 display from HP through TigerDirect for $1,379.99 BEFORE the rebate ($1,279.99 after):

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2578169&CatId=2775

That is only comparing two alike monitors. Take a look at their systems sometime, and then look at the prebuilt systems you can get for the same price through TigerDirect.

And as everyday goes by, the OS X on PC's is getting better and better.

This turned out to be much more of a rant than what I wanted it to be. So I go sleepy now. And Woz still rules.
