Rliebsch, I hear you. I used to play drums too and living in apartments all throughout and after college caused that to fall by the wayside as well. I'm getting the itch again, though. I certainly don't mean to condemn anyone for being in a band it's just that the band I was in after college was weak and nobody showed up for our sets. It felt like we were holding on to the past for a little too long. I think that now, six years out of college, it might be fun to get back into it, though.

Tangent - Off Topic - Rant - You've been warned.

Man, seriously. Never give up, never surrender.

I know I won't be a rock star, but I am almost out of the demographic of 18-34, married, baby boy, full time tech job; and I am still in 3 bands. Recently returned from a 14 day 13 show tour across the Southwest.

I still bike to work, I still skateboard as much as I have time to do.

I am irked by both the Alterna-Dads -- who recently have taken up skateboarding (longboarding) or buying their first guitar (a $3K Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom) and by the Curmudgeons -- who condemn those of us for being over 30 having kids and still in bands, skating, climbing etc.

The first group irks me less, at least they still play and dream and they'll probably be able to hang with the kids running/jumping/climbing. The second group are irritating. I didn't just take up this lifestyle. This is who I am. These are the things I have always done.

Seriously man. Get that guitar. Get this sweet ass toy. I mean, you still play with toys for a living. What's wrong with playin music for fun?
