To you David B, apperanlty you are a happy ATT customer, or maybe even afraid to go to another company, and you dont know what you are missing, but let me tell you one thing I'm happy that I unloacked my iPhone so I dont have to fall into the MONOPOLY played by Apple and ATT. I hope your phone gets locked, oh by the way....The unlocking makes the iphone work on other countries cellular service, and it worked in Europe for me.

WHY LIMIT MY SELF, the 1.1.1 udate is out, it locks phone true, but the new hack is almost out.....

Yeah. This is the same as the Sony / Hackers PSP game. I stuck with a v1.5 PSP for a long while to reap the benefits of having an unlocked device. Now the hackers seem to have won the fight, as I can enjoy official PSP firmware all the way to v3.7 with loads of added goodies and benefits.

I can understand a companies business decision to lock down a device, but surely all they are doing is giving the more talented folk out there a new challenge to solve. I'm consistently amazed at the ingenuity on display from these 'hobbyist's. Maybe Apple should give them a job :)

Sorry, but no sympathy for anyone that gets bricked. I actually hope EVERY hacked/jailbreaked iPhone gets bricked by some Apple update. Everyone who bought a iPhone KNEW it was gonna be locked to ATT for 5 years, so tough shxt if Apple and ATT continue to find ways to protect their partnership.

I'm one of the people that updated with no issue.
I did get paranoid though and did a restore a few days ago to remove all my 3rd party stuff.

I don't have it unlocked, but for all the people that do have it unlocked just hang in there, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it's hacked again.

Steve Jobs used the "cat and mouse" analogy, I think it's more like pong. ;)
