Wireless headphones. Yeah, I’ve never had the best experience with them in the past either. Granted, this is like 1992 we’re talking about when I was trying to watch “Thundercats” without waking my parents, who expressly forbade me from watching shows staring talking cats.
*Anyway*, Philips has what looks to be a good++ pair for around $350, the SHD9100. It works on the 2400-2483.5MHz frequency range, so you shouldn’t have to worry about interference from your other wireless doodads. Its 30-foot range is Bluetooth-like and 50mm driver should ensure that it doesn’t sound like feedback from a concert sound check. Its battery is rated at six hours per charge.
Yes, headphones are nearly impossible to write about unless you’ve used them extensively. At least there’s a nice picture for us to look at.
Correction! Ilya has many talents, one of which is to call me out when I screw up, like I did here. That should read 30-meter range, which has nothing to do with Bluetooth at all. A thousand apologies.

Per the linked article the range is actually 30 meters (not feet).
If that range is correct, and it’s reviewed well, I may actually pick these up.
That would be 98 feet for those who are not on the metric system.
I don’t get why something operating in the “2400-2483.5MHz frequency range”…. which is 2.4GHz… would mean you wouldn’t worry about interference from other wireless devices. Most of which use the same frequency range.
Hmmm…
yeah explain 2.4ghz and wireless routers?
Hi,
I bought have a set of these headphones a while back now, so I thought I’d share my experiences.
Firstly, I think I can reassure those people with other 2.4GHz devices that this doesn’t seem to cause any issues. I have numerous 2.4GHz devices within range and it doesn’t seem to pose any complication whatsoever.
One of the biggest surprises with these headphones is the fullness of sound. Compared to my Sennheiser RS130’s, these seem to produce a much better experience. High tones are crisp and clear and the Bass is VERY strong (far stronger than any other wireless phones that I’ve used).
I haven’t tested the maximum range of reception, but with a few walls in the way, you won’t be getting 30 meters without some interruption to the sound. I’m pleased that these headphones don’t buzz like an old cordless telephone when the signal is restricted. Instead, the sound just cuts out momentarily whilst it regains connection.
I’ve used the headphones for 4-5 hours at a time and never had the batteries go flat on me. Mind you, three standard AAA batteries are used, so it’s not difficult to get a spare set if you want to be on the safe side.
Sound is often a matter of taste, but there’s no complaint from my side. I’d always recommend that you try before you buy, but I’ve yet to find a store that has these headphones on demo…
Where can you buy these in the US?
hey i got an iphone…..so i was wondering is that gonna work for my i phone….coz i din seem anyone is talking bout is yet……i wonder if anyone use it for iphone….i really like this headphone…..i think is prety sick
