Clear2O Water Pitcher: Drinking Redefined

About a month ago, I received an e-mail from a PR guy asking me if I’d like to try the Clear2O Water Pitcher, a Brita-style water filter for your fridge. Having just moved into a new apartment sans Brita, I jumped on the opportunity and requested a unit. Then on Monday of this week, a package came. I opened it up and lo and behold, it was the Clear2O.
This water pitcher works differently and even that is the understatement of the year. To use Clear2O, you have to replace a piece of your sink’s faucet so that you can snap on a hose that’s built directly into the pitcher’s filter. Although a pain in the ass, once setup, it’s really easy to refill. Just attach the hose and turn on the water.
Now after getting this all done, I thought to myself, “This better be the best goddamned water in the world.” My friend and I filled up a pitcher, chilled it for a bit and poured a refreshing, cool glass of water for ourselves.
Goddamn. Goddamn you Clear2O. Your water filter puts Brita to shame and then some. Despite the fact that it only costs $19.95, which is a decent enough incentive to buy it, the water is so clean, you can’t taste it. I shit you not. Come over my crib and I will let you drink from the Pitcher of the Gods. Now, thanks to Clear2O, I’ll never drink out of the toilet sink again. Someone give this company an award or something.
Is it better than a Brita? Definitely. Is it cheaper? Yup. Will you enjoy it? Sure will. That’s all you need to know.

I’m curious as to how this is cheaper? A Pur pitcher is about the same price ($24.99 or less for same size). Pur filters are about $8 a piece (3 packs can be had for $24). Filters for the Clear2o are $13.99 each. Both are replaced about every 2 months.

What makes the Clear2O filter better than the others is that the system actually uses a flow meter. What this means is that the meter actually weighs how much water is being filtered through the Clear2O. A Clear2O pitcher will be able to filter 50 gallons of water and the flow meter measures that exactly and you only have to replace the filters when it is customary to you, where as the other systems filters use a timer.
In addition to the flow meter, you are also paying for the block carbon technology. This technology allows for the pitcher to remove more contaminates than Brita and or PUR.
So basically when you pay the extra amount for the filters, you are paying for cleaner water, a more advanced filter monitoring system and let us not forget that….Clear2O only takes about 34 seconds to fill while you will be waiting 5 min or more for another system.

Does the clear2o remove ALL unhealthy contaminants or simply a handful more than Brita or Pur?
It may well fill faster than Brita, but in our house (six people) we’d be filling it up every five minutes…so it really isn’t an option or convenient.

I have one and the speed really makes a difference. It fills in seconds and so I use it over and over again …..Not just for drinking, but for my coffee, my soups, even my puppies get filtered water now! In my old house, I use to have one of those expensive under the sink filters, and then when I moved I switched to a pitcher because I didn’t want to have to get a plumber to install the expensive system. Then I discovered that there was a pitcher that removed as much stuff as my old system – it removes MUCH more stuff than the other pitcher I had (I actually counted!!). I have a one year old and so I wanted something that takes out as much stuff as possible….so when I saw all the extra contaminants clear2o took out I got one (the box said it was 5 x more)…and it REALLY WORKS!!! It is FAST! But most important the water taste really clean….I am giving one to my other mom friends for Christmas!
