Google evil for not supporting troops, hating on fetuses

Google changes its logo for holidays and special occasions. They added a little Sputnik, did a cute little Chinese dragon boat, and even celebrated Edvard Munch’s birthday. But one thing those lying, stinking anti-American Talibanists didn’t do was celebrate Columbus, Memorial, or Veteran’s day. That’s right, people, Google hates our troops.

Some believe that Google is run by a pair of closet Trotsky-ites intent on bringing down the very foundations of our great nation. Others feel that the Google founders should be sent to GitMo. I believe that it’s really hard to draw Memorial and Veteran’s day without putting a big gun on the logo and basically taking political sides by focusing on essentially military events. Not sure why they didn’t do Columbus Day, though. Maybe they hate Italians. What do you guys think? Is Google evil or just wrong-headed? A poll after the jump.

  • “I believe that it’s really hard to draw Memorial and Veteran’s day without putting a big gun on the logo and basically taking political sides by focusing on essentially military events.”

IF that were true then Google could rightfully be branded anti-America.

Memorial Day is a day of rememberance for fallen troop in ALL wars the US fought in. You know the ones that were for all of civilization like WWI and WWII. Are you saying Google doesn’t want to take sides between the Allied and Axis forces? Maybe the founders never visited a Nazi Concentration Camp before. Veterans Day is a day to honor those who stuck their neck out (literally) to serve their country. Maybe all the wars down the line have not been popular, but that is no reason to shun those who served. These are not political holidays, they are NATIONAL holidays. Those that think they are partisan or political are very sad people.

And it’s quite easy to avoid using a gun. Memorial Day… turn an “O” to a wreath like the one on the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington Cemetary. Veterans Day…turn the “e” into a general saluting.

  • The problem is that someone will make it political. Persian new year and Chinese boat day are pretty tame. Memorial Day and Veterans Day, in the sense they’re presented here, are U.S. holidays dealing with military action. If I were a huge company interested in keeping an international user base, I’d probably shy away from those.

  • Columbus day sucks
    Read your Howard Zinn

  • Probably because Google is an international company, and the logos usually go out on all the country-specific Google sites. Those holidays are all American, usually they do holidays that people all over the world celebrate or a least know about.

  • I don’t celebrate conquests or conquistadors (or the death tolls they wreak) so why would I expect anyone else to.

  • Should anybody be surprised that these leftard, geeky, tekkie, GENERATION-X fags HATE AMERICAN TROOPS?
Why google doesn’t have the flags of AL Qaeda and the Talibastards on its search page is a mystery to me.
