MacBook upgrades for Xmas

Stevie Clause (not pictured) knows if you’re naughty or nice, and by the looks of the forthcoming speedbumps to the MacBook line, we’ve collectively been nice. Except you iPhone hackers, you’re getting iCoal.

Don’t look for anything dramatic, though a possible change to the Santa Rosa chipset would be welcome. More likely, according to ThinkSecret, we’re receiving modest processor upgrades and likely better video support as well. Maybe even LED backlit monitors, which we’d like to see.

But if you’re waiting for updates to the Pro line of portables, you’ll be waiting well past Boxing Day. Our guess is that Apple will have a major update for the MacBook Pro in January at MacWorld, and it’ll be about time.
