MacBook Pro battery adapter crap out on you?

What’s that smell? Oh yeah, that’s just someone’s MagSafe adapter burning up on their MacBook Pro, but don’t worry Apple has pulled the 85W power supplies from retail stores. But fear not. Apple is working vigorously to rectify the situation. A freshly redesigned adapter is in the works and should be coming soon. The Apple Store indicates that MagSafe adapters are 2 to 3 weeks out from shipping.

  • Finally! I’ve had to have two replaced already because of this (I have AppleCare), and both times the “geniuses” said it was my fault. The magsafe is so much better than the old connector but this flaw is so frustrating.

  • When this happened to me, the guy I spoke to (via phone) suggested I don’t charge my laptop when I’m not there. So when, pray tell, do I charge it? ;-)

  • How come you only praise MAC. What ever they do is great for you. Of course you have a choice – but make a choice to be non partial. I am quite fedup with your MAC is Great Advice that its spilled down to the choice of computer i want to get. iPhone (Apple told you so), come on you can do better than that.
