Motorola’s latest devices revealed in all their blurred glory
by Peter Ha on October 10, 2007

I wouldn’t exactly say that Motorola ‘leaked’ these four new devices during a presentation in Amsterdam because…well…how the hell do you accidentally leak four devices? It’s not like they fell out of your bag and every douchemonger there snapped pics of it. If it’s in your presentation then they weren’t leaked. Some people are just morons. *Looks towards the guy who got this scoop with stink eye*

First up is the Genghis. Probably a feeble attempt at knocking down RIM, but we’re not biting. A full QWERTY keyboard does not mean you’ll be the next smart phone king. Different colors? Wow. That totally distracts people from the fact that your phone sucks. Did anyone like the Q?

Texel? What’s that? Apparently it’s an addition to the ROKR line with the same odd keyboard as the ROKR E8. I suppose its only saving grace since there are no other details is the 3.5mm jack. We’ll have to wait until Q1 of 2008 for more details.

The X Pixl by its name alone would generate thoughts of a camera-centric phone and it surely is. Motorola worked together with Kodak on this candybar with a 5-megapixel sensor. That’s about all we know.

Who comes up with these names? Genghis, X Pixl and Texel? I guess Skarven sounds better then the rest. Well, at least its features sound pretty good. A 2.8-inch screen is rather impressive, but it’s the purported 8-megapixel camera with optical zoom that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I can’t wait to see how this turns out.
