Vocal Joystick video sounds like the Konami Code
by Vince Veneziani on October 10, 2007

Click the Giz link below and watch the videos. Up. Up. Left. Faster. Very fast. Slower. Up. Mouse-click. This is how one controls the Vocal Joystick, a device developed at the University of Washington. Its purpose is to help disabled and paralyzed people use computers in a much more efficient way.

The way it works is that a microphone in the joystick samples your voice 100 times a second and then pumps it through software to recognize movements. You say “Up.”, the cursor moves up. Very simple. Put a techno beat to it and you may have the Winter 2007 club hit of the season.
