Finding a wireless USB extender is hard enough. Finding one that is cross-platform compatible and works with Linux? Nearly impossible. Thankfully, there’s Gefen and its Wireless USB Extender which can transmit USB 2.0 signals up to 100-feet away. It uses a sender/receiver system and is perfect for using a keyboard and mouse while sitting on the couch, relaxing.
No doubt that the best feature is that no drivers are required (YES), so you can tear open the box and get going right away. You can get the whole package for a modest $399.

Although the device is pretty amazing, it is too expensive for the benefits it brings along.

Modest $399 ? that’ s the price of a full blown Asus EEE computer these days, for crying out loud…
I guess Cruchgear writers are paid too much…
