Nokia, Devicescape to make mobile Wi-Fi easier
by Matt Hickey on October 11, 2007

If you’ve used a Nokia phone with integrated Wi-Fi, you know that getting connected to a hotspot isn’t the most pain-free of things to do. There are a few steps to take to connect to even an open network. Nokia wants the process to be far smoother, almost automated, and has partnered with Devicescape for a bundled solution for forthcoming phones.

The downloadable software, which should run on most N-series and E-series handsets, configures the network connection automagically and joins. In addition, a catalog of usernames and passwords for secured networks is included, meaning that not only is Wi-Fi easier, it’s more available.
