You’ve been a patient poppet, haven’t you? You’ve wanted a tablet PC, but you’re loyal to Dell, who’s been more than stingy with them. But we have good news for you, friend. The Latitude XT tablet from Dell is real, and it’s coming soon.
It’s a pretty standard affair, with a 12.1-inch swiveling touchscreen, a 1.2 GGz Core 2 Duo Intel processor, up to 3GB of RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a nifty fingerprint reader. Because we live in the world of the Bourne movies.
I like laptops a lot, but this is one I’m going to sit out. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice machine, and if it comes in at a good price point, they’ll sell many. But I don’t much care for Dell, and I don’t really understand tablet PCs, so it’s just personal preference, which, as a gadget blogger, I get to force down your throats. Try it with the peanut sauce, it’s great.

1.2 GHz? Is that a typo? I didn’t know Intel made processors that slow anymore. The slowest I can see for a Core 2 Duo on Newegg’s site is a 1.6 GHz or so chip….
No that’s not a typo – it’s the ulv (ultra low voltage) version of the core proc.
I don’t personally understand people using tablet pcs for taking down notes (unless they are mathematical equations) but artists using tablet pcs (and wacom cintiq displays) makes a whole lot of sense.
You don’t get the gadget ? And you blog about them anyway with opinion ? Hmmm…. Try it with the “Get Educated” sauce, it’s Fabulous!!
Vaporware!
It’s November 26 and I think that qualifies as AFTER November 6 and still no Tablet from Dell.
December 10th! Sorry for the delay folks!
Sorry Michael….
not until you finish your homework.
