Sorry, no Wii price cuts anytime soon

I hope you weren’t looking forward to a Wii price cut in time for the holidays because it looks like it ain’t gonna happen. Nintendo big wig George Harrison said that the company is still selling “everything [it] can make,” so there’s no reason for a price cut. Apparently $250 is the sweet spot for enough people (or maybe the people who are buying the Wii—older folks with plenty of disposable income—have no problem spending $250 on a toy) that it’s still selling well.

Remember when we all used to tease Nintendo for choosing the name “Wii”? I guess people love their Wii Sports.

Matt (Who am I?)

Yet, up here in Canada, we’re getting royally ripped off on the Wii (and many other electronics)! At the current exchange rate, we should actually be paying around $242 CAD, not $290 CAD…
