Oh boy. The LX just landed in my mailbox today. Here are some pictures to tide you over while I try to get it activated and working for my review.
My initial impression is that it’s not much different than the SK3 except for the screen, which is quite glorious. It’s a bit darker but very readable and the OS is much peppier than the SK3. Best of all it includes Bob’s Journey: TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, which appears to be some sort of game for “kids.” More soon.

Danger has the amazing ability to create new devices with nothing significant that makes them any better than previous models. Pretty amazing.
How come the reviewer is getting 2 dots? I hate it when I get 2 dots if it lasts hours, I want the “G” at all times!
I been looking for greener pastures lately and have been test driving the latest smartphones @ various cellular stores and I have to tell you there is nothing out there to compare to the upcoming SK. I suppose I have been spoiled by the landscape screen, roomy keyboard and easy navigation that offers a much better smartphone experience. That settles it, I’m staying the SK and looking forward to 10-24.
it looks like the brown lx doesn’t come with the lights on the sides like the blue lx does

great photos! I didn’t know there was a chrome piece around the side.. I guess that adds some sense of elegance to a rather bland design. I love that the blue is very dark and looks black in most situations.

So wait, does the brown LX not have the flashing lights? Because if it comes without the lights then I’d rather the brown, but if it has the lights anyway I like the blue better.

If you were taking picts outdoors then the screen backlight probably wasn’t turning on due to the ambient light sensor, hence the screen not seeming very bright…
moodlights – there are lights on the top right corner that light up when you charge it. that’s the only time i saw the lights. The screen is amazing – it’s 100% better than the SK3.
@love2lounge2 – i agree completely. my iphone is sitting quietly near my bedside, sad and forlorn. the SK series just works.

Just a guess.. but he says that he’s waiting for activation so he can do a full review. Until the phone is activated, it can’t move past 2 dots as the third dot means that you’re authenticated.

yes – it wasn’t activated until an hour after i posted the pictures. My immediate impression is that this is the most kickass sidekick I’ve used. I can’t wait to see the slide.

really wished I had waited. . Now im screwed into a helio ocean. Screwed into a 2 year contract, and screwed into the worst customer service ever.
i have had them for 3 months and i am on my 3rd replacement phone!
not to mention i was promised a month of free serve “for all the inconviences”
they never gave me the credit, they turned off my phone due to lack of payment, and i now lost my deposit!
(you have to make all consecutive ontime payments to get your deposit back. . damn small print)

well i just got my blue lx in. i was really upset after seeing this site. because the pictures here made the brown look unbelievable. i was gonna send it back but i would have to wait at least a week to get the brown and i just couldnt have that.
the camera is awesome. it might still be a 1.3 like the old camera but its definitely not like the old camera.
let me just say that the blue on this sidekick is hotttttttttt. its like a deeep midnight blue. it looks so sleek and classy.
let all the haters watch youtube videos on their ipods. ill use mine for what i have it for, text aim and a phone.
it’s aight, I have the brown…..they should have left the keyboard the way it was on the SK3, the volume sucks to high heaven, both speaker, mp3 player, and incoming calls…don’t feel that it was worth the 300.00. Screen and resolution is nice, along with the slimmer build. Internet is still slow…

When you say the iPhone is better then the sidekickLX because the Sidekick cant record videos, and you have to pay for ringtones, You need to look at the iPhone aswell. Incase you havent realised, you can’t set custom ringtoness on iphone without voiding your warranty, unless you go through iTunes and pay. Also, the iPhone doesnt record videos either!
I personally had a iPhone, which i traded for my SKslide. Yea the sk may lack in some spots, but I know the iPhone does too.
I Like Sidekick LX Because it is Cool better than Sidekick3 and have been use for 2 year since and little problem and don’t like it.. If their Sidekick LX will same thing problem as Sidekick3 Unknow?? Hard to DEAL!!!!! But It is Cool!!! What I like it..

to be honest…its a damn good phone….but with out video recording, its a waste of money. i know cause i have one and a shadow……..now the shadow is definetly better than lx and i phone…..trust me there is nothing you cant do with the shadow…….you name it you got it………you dont have to pay for ring tones either….just pop a cd off your favorite albums in your computer and transfer everything.
thats how they catch you with a two year contract……you wanna know the truth….because by next year or two you will be trying to get rid of your lx for the lx5 which will then have everything like the shadow before your contract expire……its all about money people….best thing to do is wait for ……you will remember me for this comment trust me………..aka.i phone pro and lx expert.
