Take note fellow gamers, as our beloved Sony Playstation 3 may not have as many stellar hits as the PS2 and PS1 had. Apparently Sony is actually begging third-party developers to stay on board and finish PS3 games despite the console’s lack of popularity. I highly agree with this statement from Dean Takahashi of Mercury News:
“The argument is that the PS3 will show its strength as developers learn how to make games for it. But developers know they can staff four or five Wii teams with the same number of people it takes to make one PS3 game.”
Sure, you can probably crank out a Wii game way quicker than a PS3 title. But then we’ll just be stuck with a bunch of sucky games with crappy graphics where the object of the game is to wave your hands around like a retard. The death of the PS3 isn’t going to happen for a few more years, so let’s sit back and see what Sony can do to save its latest system.

Boy, those are some sour grapes there…
Xbox 360 > *
The preceding “news” story was a paid announcement by Microsoft Corporation.

Agree 100%.
Great logic there, Vince– Devs can make more money by creating wii games… but they dont want us to look like retards so they will stay with the PS3. I dont think that’s going to be the case.
This generation of consoles caused the video game industry to jump the shark. Microsoft conquers yet another tech market with their mediocre, low reliability products. Nintendo makes a long over due comeback, but the catch is it’s with a degenerating console and the greatest marketing campaign ever conceived. Sony produces the most advanced well rounded diverse electronic ever created but consumers rebel over its price, Sony listens to the consumers and does what it can to offer something cheaper only to end up with a stripped down version of a once great piece of technology… and consumers continue to b-i-t-c-h about the dropped features (consumers are the greedy ones here). PC gaming is being left in the dust so once PC exclusive developers and gamers are coming over to video games causing an over abundance of linear genres such as FPS. For whatever reason online play is becoming the primary additional feature of games although it has the least value and longevity of any gaming feature since within two years no one will ever be playing that game online anymore.
I believe you mean that the .ps3 will be extinct in a few years. I already are it as a dead console
What fantatstic journalism. Do you know the definition of “begging” ?
Lmao since when does a blogger post an immature comment like “where the object of the game is to wave your hands around like a retard”
Very unprofessional ;]
Who said CrunchGear was about professionalism? haha.
Just kidding…but seriously
The ironic thing is that I read an article just yesterday about how Wii developers were reconsidering the Wii, since it was looking like Nintendo has a near monopoly on the best-selling Wii games and most of the people who buy it are casual gamers who are happy to just play a handful of games.
I guess the 360 will rule the world.
The problem with PS3 is it’s price point and complexity… it is ahead of its time and will catchup over the next year or two I have no worries about it. It kills Wii in graphics department and backward compatibility with PS2 games which are cheap until PS3 come out + bluray is a winning combination in my mind.
Jon
Vince Veneziani,is a M$ kiss ass.
being begged to stay? no there not , they made new sofware to develop games easier and they are asking them to try to make games now that they got better sofware.
