Anti-groping software comes to Japanese cellphones

In the ever-expanding world of polite passive aggressiveness from Japan comes the cellphone capable of dirty looks. It seems that some dirty men from the land of the rising sun grope young females semi-anonlymously on Tokyo’s subways. Rather than call blatant attention to the pervs, the victim can now hold up their cellphone with phrases like “Groping is a crime!” to the assailants. That’ll stop ‘em.

But seriously, it’s a step in the right direction, but I’d like one of these women to spend one day in the NYC subway system. Instead of a tactful message, they’d get maced. I still can’t eat mexican food.

  • So, let me get this straight, you would like Japanese women to spend a day on the New York subways so that instead of getting the tactful message (of getting groped?) they can get maced instead? You’re sick. (and I totally know what you meant to say.)
BTW, if a woman doesn’t have the strength to say “Stop” what makes you think she’ll be able to reach in her purse, open her cell phone and push a few tiny little buttons to make the cell phone say “groping is a crime”? In the “land of the rising sun” I’d much sooner see her learn how to “land a rising” uppercut on her assailants.

  • I think it was supposed to say men not women.

  • i think we should start selling mace in japan, it would sell great! im still confused on how the message is going to make the men stop, they know what they are doing is illegal, and the message wouldnt say anthing that the woman herself couldnt say.
