Leopard launch madness: Apple Store 5th Ave photo frenzy

Right at the entrance as the doors first opened at 6 p.m. It was me and some AP photographer there. CrunchGear is hardcore.

Hey gang. I just got back from the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue here in New York where I snapped a few photos of the launch. It was absolutely dreadful outside, with the rain and wind and cold nearly bringing me to tears. (I called John while covering the launch. He can corroborate my sadness.) I took around 100 photos, so here’s some of the best. I may throw them all on my Facebook tomorrow, so if you’re that excited to see them, I’ll update this post with the appropriate links.

Whooo!

These are the free t-shirt hander outers. I got one!

That about does it. Many thanks to the guys at Apple for giving me photography access.

Hasta La Vista, Vista. A cotton Leopard T-Shirt is worth more than Vista Ultimate. It will probably last longer than Vista and won’t stink as bad after using it a few times.

If these are MacTards, then what would you call those miscreant Microsoft Xbox users? Oh yeh…. HaloTards. Oh yippee, I waited on line two days and I got me a kiddie game and I’m supposed to be an adult. My mommy can’t stop me from playing since I’m 30 years old and still don’t have a job. Lordy, lordy, how I love to destroy mutants in Halo. Maybe I should get a life, but Halo is my life.

Grow up. At least those people are enjoying themselves instead of sulking like a pathetic loser, loser.

I was #2 in line at the 5th Avenue Store. I was in New York on business and wound up stuck overnight. With nothing else to do, I went over there early and found the only other guy waiting, the guy who’s been written up in the bogs, Bob.

I didn’t do it because it was the only way to get Leopard (idiot’s not ordering online etc), and I didn’t just HAVE to have it now (mactards etc), I just thought it would be fun and it was.

Thanks for posting this report and pictures. I attended the event with a couple of friends, and posted about it on my own blog:
