The previous five-per-person, cash is a-okay policy for iPhone sales has been changed to two-per-person, leave your cash at home. This is in order to "discourage unauthorized resellers," according to the Apple spokesperson Natalie Kerris.

Almost a million and a half iPhones have been sold so far and roughly 250,000 have been unlocked so as to work on networks other than AT&T. Some of the aforementioned resellers are thought to be involved with facilitating the unlocking process.

  • So now AT&T gets to re-write the fundamentals of commerce? I was under the impression (apparently mistaken) that cash is legal tender, and must be acceptable in any transaction. Can someone enlighten me regarding this?

  • That is Crazy - So there are like 4 Apple stores in the Dallas area - I bet I could go to each store, plunk down my CC and have a nice pile of iPhones for ALL my family in time for the Holidays…..

  • Wow… this is monopolism at its finest! A sale is a sale, who cares if there is a small fraction of a percent who resell them… this is a GOOD problem, not a bad one (for Apple at least).

  • can i ask? how much is the cost of an i-phone? can i used it here in the Philippines or there are only designated areas that i-phones can use?
