We received a tip today that Wal-Mart would be selling a $98 HD DVD player. Sure enough, the retailer will be offering some amazing deals this holiday season. Only problem is that there is no date on this hidden Wal-Mart website. It just says the big sale starts this Friday at 8AM. Now, I’m going to assume that they are referring to Black Friday and not November 2nd considering that this is a hidden webpage on Wal-Mart’s servers.
Not only will you find the Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD player for $98, you’ll also be able to pick up some HD DVDs to watch on it for only $15 each. You can hook the Toshiba up to your brand new 50-inch Sanyo Plasma HDTV, which was a steal at $998. There will also be an Acer laptop with 1GB of RAM for $348. This is going to be one of the best Black Fridays ever.

I sent you the tip from my work e-mail address (thevill) and they DO mean this Friday November 2 – they are doing Pre-Black Friday sales all month and I assume that means deals like this (5 big sales) EVERY friday including Black Friday. I even called my local Wal-Mart (I used to work in Electronics) and they are getting a whole pallett of the HD DVD players and they will be on sale for $98 tomorrow (11-2) at 8 AM.
Just wanted to confirm that Travis is right on with his info… I called my local Walmart and they will have there on sale tomorrow. Looks like I’ll be getting to work a little late tomorrow.
I remember reading that Wal-mart threatened legal action to a few websites if they were to leak this. Interesting.
Me again – Looks like they also have a place for you to sign up for e-mail updates on “future” deals – I may be late for week for the next few fridays!
Yea, I read that too… about WM threatening legal action. BFads.net is a great authority on Black Friday deals and they have been quite heated over there about the censoring stuff (http://bfads.net/WalMart-Legal-Threats).
It seems like it would make better sense if walmart did early partnering specials with top sites like Crunch Gear, gizmodo, boing boing, etc. instead of this petty censoring b.s. Wouldn’t that make for a better story?
Ironically, they are getting as much bad press about putting things on SALE as they are about not paying their TAXES (h/t WSJ … http://online.wsj.com/article/SB119387239177978301.html)
In both cases, they are trying to CENSOR the Internet. Yea, that is reaaly gonna work.
Talk about a bad one-size-fits-all approach to public relations?
Maybe I was hallucinating or something or got too into the paranormal activity on Phenomenon (on NBC) last night, but I swear I saw a commercial from Walmart for a $348 laptop. Wouldn’t think they would advertise that yesterday for an event 3 weeks away. I am guessing we will see those items available this Friday.
WENT TO MY LOCAL WALMART FRIDAY NOV 2ND AND ALL OF THE PEOPLE IN THE ELECTRONICS DEPT REFUSED TO SELL AND DENIED THERE EVER WAS A 50 IN PLASMA TV FOR $999 OF COURSE THE HAD PLENTY OF THE PICTURED ONES FOR JUST UNDER $1300……SOUNDS LIKE HYPE TO ME……. BOARDERING ON SCAM…….
does anybody have the list of walmart black friday??
If so, it would really be helpful…thanks!

LOL! If they can think that they can keep their Info on the Down Low, think again. I’ve been fortunate enough to get all of the goodies list & all I can say is, this just might be the best one yet, as far as Walmart goes.
If you are looking for the Mysterious Flyer, Just send me an email & jtaylo699@gmail.com with WMBLITZ2007 in the Subject line & I’ll do what I can to get it out to all that asks.

I have the stuff for the “secret sale” the day after black friday too. All I can say about that right now is that if you are in the market for a DELL with a 19 inch flatscreen monitor this might be the right time to shop
