The format war is alive and well over at the AV forum. So alive that the moderators have had to shut down further posting in the HD area till the end of the week. I guess the fanboys on both sides couldn’t keep their cool.

Fanboys for DISC FORMATS? Seriously. Find something better to argue.
In all seriousness, everyone should support both formats.
1) The competition is driving costs down for us — the consumers.
2) With a $399 PS3 and a $98 Toshiba HD-A2 (wal-mart special last friday), you’ve got Hi-def movies for $500 and change.
3) And the whole point of the next gen battle is to watch films in HD — it doesn’t matter what format they’re in. Both formats provide an unbelievably incredible movie experience.
