Hey,

I'm with you that traffic shaping is wrong. I am curious if anyone can point me to a tool I can use to determine if my traffic is being shaped.

I am a comcast customer, but only because I have no other option capable of providing me with even 1/10 of the bandwidth I'm paying comcast for.

If verizon or another provider came to my area with comparable speeds, I'd drop comcast in a heartbeat.

Comcast and other cable companies really suck. It's not as if P2P is anything new or wasn't around when they started providing Internet service to the public. This simple fact is that they are CHEAP BASTARDS and only want to stall the cost of expanding it's network to handle the traffic it is seeking to make more money at the expense of people who are already customers of theirs.

I suggest that Comcast and other ISP providers get out of the business if they can't spend 50% of the income they receive for Internet service so that existing customers can get what they've already paid for and come to expect.

If you work for Comcast or any of the other cable companies and my post bothers or upsets you, then I suggest you BYTE ME !!!

In most places (that I know of), Comcast is the only ISP in its category that is available to the public. Where I live, I have the option of Comcast cable internet at an alleged 3 Mbps, or DSL from BellSouth at 1.5 Mbps (at roughly the same price considering I would have to get a landline as well). Or dial-up at 56 Kbps. Just as an added note, my Netflix "watch instantly" service was ridiculously slowed down once they lifted the monthly limit for members to stream videos. I can watch it perfectly at work (via TimeWarner T1 connections), and I used to watch it perfectly at home.

Surely switching ISPs in the US doesn't cost more than a lawsuit?
