What I&#039;ve found is that TVs that have a native 1080p resolution look like complete ass when displaying a normal SDTV signals (even digital).

According to the article on 1080p on Wikipedia, 
&quot;Various television networks in the world broadcast HDTV programming in 1080i and 720p; no 1080p broadcasting exists at this time.&quot; 
So you&#039;ll only get to see that resolution if you have a next-gen DVD player and the movie for said player is actually encoded at 1080p.

TVs are only getting cheaper and by the time you find it necessary to have 1080p resolution, it&#039;ll be standard and cheap.</description>
