The most wanted laptop in America is…

My partiality towards Macs may have clouded my judgment in the past, but a laptop that retails for under $400 and is extremely portable is hard to overlook. That’s why the Asus Eee PC is the hottest selling and most desired notebook this holiday season. They’re harder to keep on shelves then the ever popular Nintendo Wii. Over 10,000 Eees have been sold in the last couple weeks that it’s been on sale. Sure the specs lack that oomph, but it’s cheap and small. Do you want one?

I’m waiting for the 8 gig version. 10″ screen would be nice too.

I just ordered one today, and I hope to have it shipped by the end of next week. While I considered a similarly priced “full” laptop, the portability is the key factor for me. Being able to throw it in a regular messenger bag and not have some bulky laptop bag to lug around is a huge selling point. All I want is to check up on the web, check my e-mail, and do some light tasks.

Want one? I got one and YES, worth every penny. Its a sweet BR companion, not too bulky but great for some late night surfing as I get ready for a snooze.
The community that has built up around this little device (eeeuser.com) is really helpful when it comes to tweaking it up and dual (even triple!!) booting OS.
