Thanks for the clarification, obviously somewhat late since most of the sales from the original post will likely have happened.

Commercially, I think it's a fair experiment, the results will be somewhat skewed with the charity angle clearly influencing people that may not have otherwise bought a gimmick product.

I would be interested in seeing the original pitch to get coverage, it's somewhat odd that so many are focusing on the charity side of this.

I agree, this post emphasizes the charity, but I don’t think our Web site does. People are mentioning the charity thing in their blog posts, I guess because they see it as notable. I’m curious about what you think if you go to the Web site. The project has an experimental component and it has a charitable component, but the emphasis is on the commercial component.

I was raised to give 10% of everything to charity, so that’s what Neal and I will do. I don’t know what percentage the other two partners will give.

This is completely false. The proceeds do not goto Charity. Hopefully someone will call you on this and sue for this misrepresentation.

Only a portion of the proceeds will make it to charity and you can bet it will be a very very small portion.

Very poor form taking advantage of charities for financial gain.
