Taking aim squarely at the MacBook, Dell today launched the XPS M1530 series notebooks. Prices range from $999 (basic) to $1499 (loaded), and comes in a 1-inch thick, svelte form factor.
Notable add-ons include the cheesy fingerprint scanners and slot-loading Blu-ray R/W drives for $500 more.
Sadly, you only get Vista as an installed OS, and you get your choices of Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate Business. No word on if there’s an upgrade to Extreme Super Ultimate Bizniss and Money edition.
And you even get your choice of colors.

Interesting… looking forward to seeing if the rest in the XPS brand also get a similar makeover.

This is not a competitor for the Mac Book, in size and options this goes up against the MacBook Pro.
The XPS 1330 is really a MacBook competitor

love the new design. It really is competition for the MacBook Pro, they just need to bundle Adobe elements like they do with the other XPS systems to go against iLife.
I find in laughable that the author svelte and cheesy within the same review. Why would [he] consider the fingerprint reader “cheesy”.
this is the worst review ive seen. have u even seen the thing? if so include some information worth reading. a waste of time.
I have to agree with dan-492, not only is this REVIEW THE WORST i’ve read.
But certainly a waste of time, and i’m wasting my time commenting. The notebook is full of stuff and info … and i didn’t read any of it in this review, it seems that you not only NOT CARE about the XPS 1530 then why REVIEW the product!!! “CHEESY”? REALLY??
