In that spirit, I bring you the first CrunchGear What’s Worse?, where we take something vile from the technology world and something dreadful from the rest of the world and ask you, the readers, the question: Which one do you hate more?
For our inaugural story, I’d like to know: which do you hate more, Windows Vista or Paris Hilton? Truly a heavyweight match if ever there was one. One only works on the most up-to-date hardware, the other only works in nightvision. One is a resource-sucking, over-rated, over-the-top waste of space, the other is an operating system. So I ask you, the readers, which is worse? Windows Vista or Paris Hilton? Begin the debate!

I know this a a pretty unpopular stance around here, but I’ve been using Vista for about six months without issue. Maybe I’m just lucky, but from my experience, it’s an excellent operating system.
My current machine may not be as pretty as my previous Macbook, but it just works, which is more than I can say about that Mac. I’m not a Mac hater, but my last one was nothing but trouble.

Well, if Vista were a person you’d have to choose from its 13 different sisters. Do you take Home(ica) who looks ok and does fine at math, or do you dive after Premium(ina) who looks damn hot and could manage a dozen banks on her own? And don’t get me started on her other sisters, especially (Jill)ltimate. One word: Issues!
On the other side you have Paris. She’s physically hot, but the operating system under the hood, well, let’s just say her boot record needs to be blown away and rebuilt.
In the end, I’m lazy, so I’d go with Paris. If anything she could introduce me to Nicole Richie, who I think is much better looking than Paris. Rrrrrrrrrow!

It’s definitely a coin toss here but I’m going to have to go with Vista only because in my day to day life, even as a mac user, I actually have to DEAL with vista on occasion, my guess is I’ll never have to actually deal with Paris Hilton.

As a married guy with a Mac I don’t have either Paris or Vista in my life, but given the choice of the two, I’d rather spend a weekend with Paris than a weeking using Vista.

The way the Microsoft has taken vista and they are approaching the market with latest releases all round the corner it is just a fuss that Vista will go absolute. And as Vista has been designed with Windows 2008 Server as a dedicated client there is no question on some thing that vista is going absolute though it has been criticised for what ever reasons.
So the best thing on end user part is to accept it and addept it.

To be honest. I don’t have a problem with either one. People seem to forget that XP had quite a few issues before SP2. So just XP time. But I’m not denying it’s not a memory hog.
Paris hilton is doing what we’d all be doing in her shoes! Shes living off her familys wealth and you can’t blame her for that. She actualy makes quite a bit of money now on her own. I don’t think shes a terrible person. Shit just happens to her and it gets blown out of proportion. Paris Hilton is by far the worst of the two. I work in IT, and I’ve been using Vista on my primary work computer for six months. I really don’t care about how “pretty” it is, but it has crashed as rarely for me as Windows XP did. That said, Paris and User Account Control are too similar not to mention: They both waste my time trying to get me to pay attention to them. Too bad you can’t turn off Paris the way you can turn off UAC.
Well, in the good ol’ man vs. machine battle, i think Paris wins this one by having tits. Yup. Vista is just painful to use, and Paris has tits.

I don’t think vista is really as bad as most make it out to be, I was more of a giant disappointment. In fact, I was so disappointed by vista’s lack of innovation (besides the start menu search, damn i liked that) I have made the switch to Linux.
I also have to admit that I have taken some “enjoyment” from the Paris videos from time to time. I think it has to do with seeing someone with so much celebrity in such a position no matter how annoying that person may be.
To choose which is worse is difficult. Though if I have to choose, and I do, I would have to go for Paris. Vista is bloated waste of space but Paris is a dead horse.
Windows Vista has uses and doesn’t cost millions a day – at least for a home user. You get more viruses with Vista though Paris comes in a close second. Vista requires a microprocessor of some type while Paris doesn’t. Vista requires a minimum amount of memory while Paris doesn’t. Both steal ideas from other entities and tout them as their own. Vista can get slow and even lock up. Paris is slow and gets locked up. Vista uses a hard drive while Paris is the recipient of a hard drive. You can reboot Vista if you have a problem. Paris needs to be rebooted but you can’t without going to jail after you reboot her. Vista is compatible with hundreds of software titles. Paris isn’t compatible with anything. Vista can run virtual machines. Paris runs a virtual reality. Vista uses/requires drivers. Paris is a drunk driver. Bottom line: Vista gets my vote. I’ll wait until Paris Hilton version 2.0 comes out.
