iPhone not holding a charge? Ninjas running down your battery at night? The kids at Gearlive did a great video of a full iPhone disassembly and battery replacement. Good stuff.

  • When my iPhone’s battery stopped holding a charge, I just brought it in to the Apple Store and they replaced it on the spot. They did a routine software restore first, as a formality, then swapped it out. Bummer that they’re failing already, but the quick exchange mitigated the hassle.

  • Why on earth would you remove the red wire first?
Anyone who works on electronics/automotive electronics for more than 2 minutes knows you always disconnect (-) first. (for the noobs thats black)

That way you don’t risk shorting anything… Lithium batteries tend to vent/burst into flames when shorted.

  • hi my iphone will not recognize the usb cable what can i do my phone is dead since it dosent charge

  • An easier way, but risky is to get the back cover off is to drop the iPhone, I got my iPhone as a very wonderful gift from my aunt, I can see a corner of the silver cover still popped up from when she dropped the iPhone, oops :)
