Does anyone else think microsoft is dragging it's feet with HD DVD??? I think they want a stalemate so they can take over digital downloads and convince everyone HD content is better consumed through the 360 and zune.

@outlaw

In your case I would probably opt for a CRT HDTV. They're a hell of a lot less expensive than LCDs and Plasmas, and they don't look like crap when you put SD content on them. This is due to CRTs not having fixed pixels (read up on it if you're curious). You can get a 30 inch widescreen for around 500, which isn't that big, but will serve as a nice transition into HD.

Yeah, my wife and I were looking at HDTV's this past weekend, and were really considering coming into the new age. But honestly without content, what's the point? Content is available, but for us in rural america, there isn't anything readily available. I could upgrade my DishNetowrk to HD, but I have a DVR now, and I would have to upgrade to the HD DVR. I also have 4 TV's in the house on Dish. I would have to make a choice on which would be HD.

I just don't think it is the right time for me. I have an XBox 360, but that is the only HD I have in the house at the moment.
