Troll Touch touchifies the touchless iMac

imac_family.jpg

We’ve been loving multitouch since Apple made it splash with the iPhone and now the iPod Touch. And we’re shepherding rumors lately that the new Apple sub-notebooks that are rumored will feature mutlitouch. When the new iMacs were announced a couple months ago, we figured they’d have the technology, but we were foiled.

TrollTouch, however, has hacked the iMac to include touchscreen technology. We haven’t used one yet, but we’re guessing Leopard would be a ton of fun to use this way. Now, it’s not official, so we’re sure it’s buggy, but its perfectly suited to retail and other transactional uses, or for those who are really into hands-on photoshoppery.

I love multi Touch! the Conference rooms at my office are equipped with smart boards. Until using one I think my touch screen experience was limited to fancy ATMs, I can’t wait for this technology to come down in price to where it is more common.

My screen is dirty as it is… having to touch it will just make it worse!

Do not get anything from them. I had my worst time with that “one man” business. I got a 30″ Apple Cinema Display that stoped working (the touchscreen) 2 month after I got it at a cost of $5000!!!! The touchscreen had an air bubble and the owner didn’t reply any mail after he decided “it was my fault”. The thing is that the “heat” of the screen damaged the low quality touch screen surface. I had 2 iMacs from them as well and they stoped working 4 and 5 months later. I contacted their software provider because I thout it was a driver problem. You can find the manofacturer in the software info. For my surprice they broke relationship with him because Troll Touch never paid, the software company is in England and they sent me new drivers until we found out it was a hardware malfunction. The most important thing… the touch screen will void your computer warranty. They are Apple provider but not service. The owner is Nick Durso.
