It worked good in CDMA and even better in GSM mode. During a layover in South Korea I had coverage and my friends did not (T-mobile). You can chose CDMA only, GSM only or "Global". Global will search for best coverage. While in GSM mode you also have the option to search for networks and pick which one you want to use.
